In the life of a police officer, no two days are the same. You must be able to deal with the unexpected as you face a variety of tasks – from interacting with the community and basic reporting to handling violent, difficult and distressing situations.
That’s why we look for specific skills and qualities in all our candidates. You’ll need to meet SA Police’s eligibility criteria and undergo a rigorous recruitment process to determine whether you’re right for the job. If we offer you a role, you’ll begin training, during which we’ll pay you while you develop the skills you’ll need to be an officer.
At SA Police, we care about our officers and value the diverse backgrounds and experiences that they bring to their job. We’re committed to establishing a fair, flexible and safe workplace for all our staff. You’ll also have access to benefits and incentives that aim to make sure you have ongoing opportunities for growth and development – our structured career progression program means you’ll have job security and clear career pathways with generous salaries.
Future applicants are encouraged to complete and submit an online eligibility assessment form and visit our events page to register for an upcoming information session.
We invite future applicants to complete and submit an online eligibility assessment form to understand the standards and commitments required in a SAPOL career.
Once completed and submitted, SAPOL will consider all submissions as an expression of interest and invite only those successful applicants into the preliminary testing stage.
Interstate applicants, and those living in regional areas, will have specific testing arrangements inclusive of a two-day event at SAPOL headquarters.
