Community Constable Careers

Are you someone who understands your local community? Apply for a career as a community constable with SA Police for the opportunity to make a positive difference to the people you see and speak with every day.

We employ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander officers to act as professional role models within their communities. You need to meet SA Police’s eligibility criteria and undergo a rigorous recruitment process that aims to determine whether you have the strength of character and integrity necessary for the job. If we offer you a role, you’ll attend our academy, where you’ll receive training to build your capabilities in the community constable role.

Once you complete your training, you’ll begin your duties as a community constable, using your understanding of the cultural and social issues within your local community to break down barriers, build engagement opportunities, and improve safety and wellbeing.
