Future applicants are required to complete and submit an online eligibility assessment form to understand the standards and commitments required in a SAPOL career.
We employ First Nations community constables and a number of culturally diverse community constables as professional role models within their communities. You need to meet SA Police’s eligibility criteria and undergo a merit based selection process that aims to determine whether you have the skills, attributes and integrity necessary for the role. If we offer you a community constable position, you’ll attend our academy, where you’ll receive training to build your capability to succeed in the community constable role.
Once you complete your training, you’ll begin your duties as a community constable, using your understanding of the cultural and social issues within your local community to break down barriers, build engagement opportunities, and assist in providing an accessible police service to improve safety and wellbeing for communities.
