Your journey to becoming a police officer with SA Police begins with our two-year Constable Development Program.
During your first year, you’ll be based at our police academy in Taperoo, Adelaide. Here, you’ll combine academic studies in law, policy and procedure with practical and physical training.
After graduating from the academy, you’ll be posted as a probationary constable at one of our four metropolitan Districts or to one of our other locations across the state. During this probationary period, you’ll build up your skills and experience in the field, after which we’ll consider you for the rank of constable.
