Man arrested in Gladstone

Just before 11.45pm on Monday 3 August, police were contacted after a Port Augusta resident reported a disturbance. Information was provided and checks showed a man involved was wanted on several matters.

As officers responded, the man left the address in a Holden ute, travelling south from Port Augusta.

About 1.20am on Tuesday 4 August, police located the car abandoned behind a service station on Park Terrace, Gladstone. The driver, a 31-year-old man, was arrested without incident.

During a search police located and seized a gel blaster, lock picking tools and a knife.

The man was charged with firearms, drug and traffic offences as well as outstanding warrants.

He was refused police bail and will attend the Port Pirie Magistrates Court later today.
