Update: Hilton hit-run driver to face court

07 Apr 2024 8:59am

The driver involved in an alleged hit-run crash at Hilton yesterday has been identified and will face court.

About 12.20pm on Saturday 6 April, a dark coloured sedan turned right from Mallen Street onto Sir Donald Bradman Drive where it has collided with a silver Toyota Corolla sedan. The collision forced the Toyota off the road where it collided with a tree and road works signs.

The driver of the Toyota, an 88-year-old man, and passenger, 80-year-old woman, both from Encounter Bay, were taken to hospital in serious but stable conditions.

The driver of the dark coloured sedan initially stopped but left the scene without exchanging details.

As a result of social media posts, a 25-year-old woman from Hilton, attended a police station later advising she was the driver involved in the crash.  She was reported for causing serious harm and leaving the scene of a crash.  She will be issued an immediate loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
