Driver reported after Hills crash

A drink driver will face court after crashing at Chain of Ponds yesterday.

About 5.20pm Saturday 4 May emergency services were called to Tippet Road after reports a Volkswagen heading north and a Hyundai heading south collided.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 28-year-old Moana woman, and her 36-year-old male passenger were not injured.

The driver of the Volkswagen, an 85-year-old Lobethal man, left the scene prior to police arrival but was later located at his home address. He was breath tested allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.201 - more than four times the legal limit.

He was reported for drink driving and leaving the scene of a crash. He lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
