Two drink drivers lose their licences last night

10 Apr 2024 6:40am

A drink driver blew more than three times the legal limit when pulled over at Flinders Park last night.

Police were patrolling the Findon area about 8.45pm on Tuesday 9 April when they saw a ute leave a hotel car park.  The patrol followed the vehicle into the backstreets before stopping it in Gould Street, Flinders Park for a mobile driver test.

The driver, a 41-year-old Flinders Park man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.166 – more than three times the legal limit.

The driver was reported for drink driving and issued with an instant loss of licence for 12 months.  His vehicle was impounded and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

And a P-plater lost her licence on the spot for six months after being caught over the limit at Secombe Gardens.

The 28-year-old Glengowrie woman was pulled over about 9pm on Sandery Avenue, Seacombe Gardens and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.096 – nearly twice the legal limit for a fully licensed driver.

The P-plater was reported for drink driving and breaching the conditions of her probationary licence and issued with a six-month loss of licence.  Her vehicle was impounded and she will appear in court at a later date.

Police remind drivers that they can be pulled over anywhere, at any time for a mobile driver test.
