Three arrested after West Richmond assault

Three men have been arrested after a stabbing at West Richmond.

It will be alleged that about 2.20am today (Friday 29 March), police and ambulance crews were called to Passmore Street after reports of an altercation between a group of people known to each other.

One man was assaulted with an unknown weapon, possibly a broken glass bottle.

The 24-year-old Pennington man was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Police searched the area and located the suspects in Cowandilla.

A 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both of Cowandilla and a 24-year-old Mile End man were charged with affray and assault causing serious harm.

The Mile End man was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries but has since been released back into police custody.

All three men were refused bail to appear in court on Tuesday.
