A man has lost his licence and car after being caught speeding on Grand Junction Road yesterday afternoon.

About 4.40pm Thursday 25 April police were conducting speed detection duties on Grand Junction Road when they clocked a black Jeep travelling at 131km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police managed to stop the car and speak to the driver, a 41-year-old man from, Gawler South. Of great concern was that there were two children under 10 in the car.

The man was reported for driving at extreme speed, lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
