Ute hits tree at Pelican Lagoon

Police are investigating a serious crash at Pelican Lagoon on Kangaroo Island overnight.

A passing motorist came across a single vehicle crash on Hog Bay Road, Pelican Lagoon about 4.15am on Thursday 18 April.  The ute had left the road and hit a tree.

The driver, a 69-year-old Dudley West man, who was the only occupant of the ute, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the local hospital before being airlifted to the mainland for treatment.

Hog Bay Road was reopened to all traffic about 6am.
