24 Apr 2024 6:34am

A man has been arrested following a traffic stop in Western suburbs earlier this morning.

At about 1.40 am 24 April, police sighted a Grey BMW on Wood Avenue Ridleyton, which appeared to be evading police. The car was stopped a short distance away on Monmouth Street.

Police had a conversation with the driver a 21-year-old Croydon Park man, and checks revealed he was suspended from driving. A search of his vehicle located fireworks and drugs which were seized for forensic examination.

The man was arrested and charged with driving whilst being suspended, trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, possessing fireworks and breaching his bail.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
