Drink drivers at Port Augusta

Port Augusta Police detected three drink drivers over the weekend.

About 11.20am on Saturday 4 May, a 35-year-old man was pulled over after allegedly doing a burnout on Richardson Crescent, Port Augusta West.  He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.057 and tested positive to methamphetamine.  His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he was issued with a three-month instant loss of licence.

At 9.45pm on Saturday, a 36-year-old woman recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.083 after she was stopped while driving on Elizabeth Terrace, Port Augusta.  She was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and her vehicle was impounded for 28 days.  She was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Just after 6.30pm on Sunday 5 May, a 38-year-old woman recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.205 on the Augusta Highway, Port Augusta.  Police checks revealed she her licence was already expired.  She was issued with a further 12-month loss of licence and her vehicle was impounded for 28 days. She was reported for drink driving and driving while unlicensed and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
