09 Apr 2024 7:00am

A woman has been caught drink driving after hitting a shop wall at Glenelg North yesterday.

About 3.50pm on Monday 8 April, Police and emergency services were called to a shop on Anzac Highway after a woman drove into the car park and side swiped an external wall. Minor damage was caused to the building and thankfully there were no reports of injuries.

The driver was subsequently breath tested and she allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.228, nearly five times the legal limit.

A 51-year-old woman from Glengowrie was reported for aggravated driving without due care and drink driving. She also received a twelve-month instant loss of licence, and her car was impounded.

She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
