Two teens charged with aggravated robbery in Elizabeth

Two teens have been arrested after two separate robberies in Elizabeth overnight.

Just after 10.15pm on Saturday 20 June, police were called to a licensed premises on Philip Highway at Elizabeth South after reports two teens assaulted a security guard and stole alcohol.

The security guard was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

Shortly after, police were called to a second licensed premises on Elizabeth Way after two teens threatened staff with a knife before stealing alcohol.

There were no physical injuries reported.

Police quickly responded and searched the area and arrested the youths at a nearby train station.

Northern District Detectives attended the scene and investigations are continuing.

A 16-year-old girl from Smithfield and a 15-year-old girl from Clovelly Park were both charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

They were both granted police bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Friday 7 August.
