Two drink drivers stopped at Salisbury

Northern District Police detected two drink drivers in the Salisbury area last night.

Just before 11pm on Monday 15 April, police were called to a licensed premises on Salisbury Highway, Salisbury by security after an intoxicated woman had driven into the car park and was now attempting to leave.

Police located the woman and her vehicle, which had sustained damage from an earlier collision.

The 53-year-old Paralowie woman recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.241 – nearly five times the legal limit.

She was reported for drink driving and will appear in court at a later date.  She lost her licence on the spot for 12 months and her car was impounded.

Earlier in the evening, about 10.15pm, police pulled over a vehicle on Main North Road, Salisbury East for a mobile driver test.

The 55-year-old Ingle Farm man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.121 – more than twice the legal limit.  He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month immediate loss of licence and had his car impounded.
