Northern suburbs man arrested for child sex offences

On Monday 27 July, investigators from SA JACET, a joint task force between SAPOLs Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), arrested a 26-year-old northern suburbs man.

He has been charged with failing to comply with a magistrates order directing access to electronic data and possessing steroids and was remanded in custody.

As a result of further investigations by JACET it was identified the male was in possession of child exploitation material and in possession of explosive instructions.

On 18 August the man was further charged with possession of child exploitation material and possession of explosive instructions. He remains in custody and will appear in court on a later date.

"The SA JACET remain committed to identifying offenders and protecting children from harm, we will continue to work with our partners and explore all investigative and legislative tools available to hold perpetrators to account." said Detective Inspector Matthew Fitzpatrick, Officer in Charge Special Crime Investigation Branch.
