Shed break-in and tool theft in Renmark

Between 12 July and 1 August, a shed break-in occurred at James Avenue in Renmark.

Various tools were stolen including a Makita battery charger, a number of Milwaukee and Makita 18-volt batteries, a Milwaukee impact drill, a Milwaukee angle grinder, a Milwaukee power inverter and a Beehive branded tool bag containing hand tools.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or has information that may assist the investigation, to contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or on 1800 333 000 and quote reference 201357.

Police would like to take this time to remind people of some basic home and shed security tips -

Remember lock all shed doors with a good quality lock or padlock, secure tools out of sight and utilise security lights in poorly lit areas.

Mark your tools and equipment by engraving, using UV or indelible ink pens. Include your driver’s licence number or date of birth prefixed with ‘S’ for South Australia.

Take photos and record serial numbers of your tools and equipment. Consider using GPS trackers for expensive items and installing a shed alarm.
