Attempted robbery arrest at Lightsview

A man has been arrested after an attempted robbery yesterday at Lightsview.

Just before 2.30pm on Monday 3 August, police were called to a bus stop on Hampstead Road after reports that a man had been threatened by another man armed with a knife.

The suspect demanded the victim’s property and when he refused, the suspect boarded a bus headed towards Adelaide.

The victim was not injured.

A few minutes later patrols located the suspect on Windsor Avenue at Clearview. He allegedly threw a knife at the patrol car before running away. After a brief foot pursuit, the man was arrested near Hampstead Road.

A 31-year-old Lightsview man was charged with attempted aggravated robbery, throw missile and possess knife in a public place.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 4 August).
