Teens arrested after northern suburbs robbery

It will be alleged that about 5am on Tuesday 4 August, a woman was sitting in her Mazda station wagon at Elizabeth East when she was approached by two teenage boys armed with an axe.

The teens allegedly threatened the victim before stealing the Mazda and driving away.

Fortunately, the woman was not physically injured during the incident.

At about 9.20am, police were called to Shearer Avenue, Seacombe Gardens, following reports that the stolen Mazda had been located in a car park.

Patrols attended and recovered the vehicle before conducting a search of the surrounding area, however the suspects were not located.

Following further investigations, police identified three suspects and arrested them on board a train travelling towards the CBD at about 10am.

A 15-year-old boy from Elizabeth Downs was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle. He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.

A 15-year-old boy from Elizabeth East and a 13-year-old boy from Paradise were both charged with aggravated robbery. They were refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Wednesday 5 August.
