Traffic reports in Murray Mallee

Murray Mallee police have detected five drivers committing traffic offences over the weekend.

At 11am on Saturday 6 April, Riverland Police reported a 50-year-old New South Wales man for driving disqualified. He was stopped on Sturt Highway, Pike River. He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

About 11.30pm on Saturday, a 49-year-old man was stopped on Fromm Road, Mount Pleasant and submitted to a roadside breath test. The Mount Pleasant man allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.169. He was reported for drink driving and issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

Murraylands Police reported a 36-year-old Murray Bridge man after he was stopped on Trevor Street, Murray Bridge about 10.30am on Sunday 7 April. It will be alleged that when submitted to a breath test, he produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.081. He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded. He will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

About 3.30pm on Sunday, Police stopped a 20-year-old Mannum man on Jarvis Avenue, Murray Bridge after he was seen doing a burnout. The man was reported, and his vehicle impounded. He will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

Between Friday 5 April and Monday 8 April, Murray Mallee Police reported two people on separate occasions while driving with illicit substances in their system. Both people received a 3-month loss of licence, had their vehicles impounded, and may be summonsed to appear in their respective courts at a later date. Further, Police have also reported one person for driving disqualified, and one unlicensed, one of which had their vehicle impounded, and both will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
