Limestone Coast Police have been busy on the roads over the weekend with numerous drivers due to face court over various traffic offences.
On Friday 14 August, a 22-year-old man from Port Macdonell was stopped by Police driving a Hyundai sedan on the Jubilee Highway, Mount Gambier for the purpose of a driver test.
Police will allege the driver returned a positive result to methamphetamine and cannabis.
The man was issued a three-month instant loss of licence notice pending forensic analysis and issued an expiation notice for breach of his provisional licence conditions.
About 9.30am on Saturday 15 August, a 25-year-old woman from Glencoe was stopped driving by Police on Gordon St, Mount Gambier for the purpose of a driver test.
Police will allege she returned a positive result for methamphetamine.
The woman was issued with a three-month instant loss of licence notice pending forensic analysis.
About 9.45am on Saturday 15 August, a 29- year-old woman from Angle Vale was stopped driving on Commercial St West, Mount Gambier for the purpose of a driver test.
It will be alleged she returned a positive result to methamphetamine.
Action against the woman is yet to be determined pending forensic analysis.
At 5pm on Saturday 15 August, at 17-year-old boy from Mount Gambier was detected by Police allegedly travelling at 145km/h in a 110km/h signed zone on Princes Highway, Kangaroo Inn.
The boy, a provisional licence holder, was reported for the offence of extreme speed in addition to breaches of his provisional licence conditions and issued with a six-month instant loss of licence notice.
At about 6.30pm on Saturday 15 August, police and emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash involving a Nissan utility at the corner of Wireless Rd East and Attamurra Rd, Mount Gambier.
The driver of the vehicle, a 46-year-old man from Glenburnie, was submitted to a breath test which police will allege returned a positive result of 0.184.
He was reported for drink driving and issued a 12-month instant loss of licence notice.
He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
