Weapons and drugs seized during Salisbury operation

Salisbury Police and the Public Transport Safety Section, supported by Police Dog Csaba, conducted a high-visibility operation around the Salisbury Interchange and nearby licensed premises on Thursday 7 August.

During the operation, police stopped and searched a number of people, allegedly locating cannabis, GHB (fantasy), cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

At about 7pm, PD Csaba indicated to a 33-year-old Salisbury man outside a local hotel. Police searched the man and allegedly located cannabis, GHB and a meat cleaver in his possession.

He was arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon and drug-related offences. He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 16 September.

The man was also issued with a barring order from the hotel.

Northern District police remain committed to proactive policing operations around public transport infrastructure and licensed premises to help ensure community safety.
