Port Augusta police seize weapons in declared precinct

Police were called to the park on Beauchamp Lane just after 8pm on Thursday 6 August following reports of a disturbance.

A 33-year-old woman from Far North was searched by patrols and allegedly found in possession of three knives and other weapons.

The location where the woman was stopped falls within the Port Augusta Declared Shopping Precinct, which provides police with additional powers to enhance public safety.

She was charged with carrying an offensive weapon in a public precinct and was bailed to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on 7 September.
