Man arrested attempting to break into unit in the CBD

16 Jul 2026 6:36am

Eastern District patrols made a swift arrest after a man was attempting to break into a unit in CBD last night.

About 8.15pm on Wednesday 15 July, patrols were called to a unit complex on South Terrace after reports a man had broken a window at the rear of the unit and attempted to gain entry.

A nearby witness yelled out to the man who then ran from the scene onto St Johns Lane, then returned to the front of the property.

Patrols were on scene shortly after and arrested the man without incident.

The 30-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated serious criminal trespass. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
