Driver arrested after burnout at Para Hills

A man’s car has been impounded after he was caught hoon driving at Para Hills this morning.

About 10.20am on Wednesday 15 July, Police were travelling south on Nelson Road when they observed a Ford sedan conduct a burnout and fishtail on the road.

When police indicated for the driver to pull over, it collided with the rear of the police vehicle causing minor damage.

The driver stopped and was subsequently arrested.

He was submitted to a drug screening test and allegedly returned a positive result to methamphetamine.

A 32-year-old man from Munno Para was charged with misuse of a motor vehicle, drive in a manner dangerous and aggravated driving without due care. He may face further drug driving charges following results of a forensic analysis.

His car was impounded for 28 days, and he was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.
