Port Augusta Police have recovered a firearm believed to be linked to a home invasion in Port Augusta in February.

It will be alleged on Tuesday 13 February two armed men broke into a home at Port Augusta.  Items were stolen from the home including the victim’s Toyota Hilux which was recovered the next day.

The two suspects, aged 26 and 32, were arrested by police within days of the break-in and are before the courts.

Following investigations, Port Augusta CIB detectives attended a Port Augusta address on Thursday 18 April and located a firearm suspected of being used in the offence.

A machete and tomahawk were previously recovered by police and the seizure of the firearm marks the recovery of all weapons allegedly used in this incident.

Investigations are continuing.
