Truck v bridge Ascot Park

Police remain at the scene of a collision at Ascot Park, where a truck has collided with a rail bridge causing the load it was carrying to fall onto the road.

Just before 1.30pm Wednesday 24 April police were called to Daws Road after a track that had been travelling east collided with the rail bridge which crosses the Daws Road near Railway Terrace.

The driver, a 61-year-old man, wasn’t injured.

East bound on Daws Road is down to one lane. There are speed restrictions for west bound. Train services were halted for a short time but are now back up and running.

Please avoid the area if you can, police don’t expect the scene till be cleared until around 5-6pm.
