Fatal Helicopter crash in Yorke Mid North region

Police are preparing a report for the coroner following a fatal helicopter crash in the Yorke Mid Noth region yesterday afternoon.

About 2.15pm on Saturday 12 September, police and emergency services were called to a pastoral property west of Broken Hill following the report a helicopter had crashed.

The pilot and sole occupant, a 51-year-old local man sadly died at the scene.

Australian Transport Safety Board (ATSB) have been notified and the Australian Sport Rotorcraft Association (ASRA).

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene and will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
