Drink driver blows 0.211 after car park crash

A drink driver crashed into a parked car at Port Pirie yesterday afternoon.

Police attended a collision on Grey Terrace, Port Pirie about 4.30pm on Wednesday 17 April after a car crashed into a parked car in the car park of the shopping centre.

The driver, a 55-year-old Port Pirie South man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.211 - more than four times the legal limit.

He was reported for drink driving and issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.  He will be summonsed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court at a later date.

His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
