Clare woman arrested after assault

Just after 8pm on Saturday 17 May, police were called to a hotel on Main North Road after reports a woman was causing a disturbance at the premises.

Police attended and spoke with the woman who allegedly refused to leave when requested to do so.

When police escorted the woman out of the hotel, she became aggressive and allegedly assaulted the officers. Thankfully they were not injured.

A 31-year-old woman from Clare was subsequently arrested and charged with assaulting a prescribed worker and refusing to leave a licensed premises. She was bailed to appear in the Clare Magistrates Court on 7 July.
