Operation Trident spearheads drug investigation in western suburbs

Police have arrested seven people as part of an ongoing operation targeting illegal drug trafficking in the western suburbs.

On Tuesday 11 August 2026 a day of action was undertaken for Operation Trident in the western suburbs.

Western District detectives and patrols, along with officers from Serious and Organised Crime Branch, Traffic Services Branch, Dog Operations Unit, Mounted Operations Unit and STAR Group searched six houses, locating 50 grams of methamphetamine, 670 mL of 1,4 Butanediol (fantasy) and other illicit drugs, along with a machete and knuckledusters.

The arrested suspects included a 44-year-old Prospect woman who was charged with multiple counts of trafficking in a controlled drug and money laundering, and a 44-year-old Woodville Gardens man who was charged with trafficking in a controlled drug.

Both were bailed to appear at court at a later date.
