High range drink-driver stopped in Gawler

A man has been reported and lost his license after being stopped by police last night.

About 6.20pm on Tuesday 11 August, a Holden sedan was stopped for a driver test by a motorcycle officer.

The driver, a 63-year-old man from Adelaide returned a positive reading of 0.259 – more than five times the legal limit. Checks showed he was also driving while unlicensed at the time.

He was reported for drink driving and driving unlicensed, issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence notice and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will attend court at a later date.
