Trio arrested after crashing car into fence

Police have arrested three men who ran from the scene of a crash at Athol Park.

About 3.20am, Saturday 13 June police were called to a premises on Grand Junction Road at Athol Park after reports a Ford sedan crashed into a fence.

The three suspects attempted to run from the scene however police were quick to the scene and located the three men shortly after where they were arrested.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Parafield Gardens was submitted to a breath test where he returned a positive result of 0.124, almost three times the legal limit.

There were no reports of injuries.

The two 24-year-old passengers were also arrested and charged with hindering police. They were both granted police bail to appear in the Magistrates Court at a later date.

The driver was charged with drink driving, driving without due care and hindering police. He was bailed to appear in the Magistrates Court at a later date.
