Semi-trailer obstructing Stuart Highway

The truck is blocking northbound lanes of the highway and is expected to remain blocked until a crane can attend on Friday afternoon to recover the vehicle and its heavy load.

The highway will be required to be completely closed at that time while the vehicle is recovered.  More details on timeframes for road closured will be provided tomorrow (Friday).

A contraflow is currently in place so please take care while driving through the area and adhere to any reduced speed restrictions.

Coober Pedy Mine and Rescue SES have been assisting local police with traffic management, lighting and other logistics, which is greatly appreciated.
