Man arrested after running from crash at Woodville South

A man has been arrested after running from the scene of a crash at Woodville South.

About 12.45am on Friday 3 July, patrols were called to the intersection of Port Road and Curtis Road after reports a vehicle collided with a stobie police.

Witnesses reported that the driver was running from the scene.

Patrols were quick to the area and located the suspect nearby where he was arrested. After a search of the male, he was found to have possession of knuckledusters.

SA Power Networks are on scene completing repairs to power lines brought down as a result of the collision.

Southbound traffic on Port Road at Jones Street is down to one lane. Diversions are in place while crews are on scene.

The 40-year-old man from Queenstown was charged with driving without due care and possessing a prohibited weapon.

Further charges may be laid pending drug and alcohol testing. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
