Suspicious fire at Pooraka

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a group of shops at Pooraka this morning.

About 1.30am on Friday 3 July, police and MFS were called to a group of shops on Bridge Road after reports of a fire.

A butcher shop was engulfed in flames when patrols arrived but was quickly extinguished by fire crews.

The fire also caused minor damage to an adjoining supermarket and barber shop.

Fire Cause Investigators are at the scene to determine how the blaze started.

At this time, police believe the fire was deliberately lit.
