Driver charged after Parkside crash

Just before 11.45pm on Tuesday 29 September, police received reports that a Toyota sedan crashed a fence on Belgrave Court and left the scene.

The car was located a short time later in the Cross Road area, where police observed it being driven erratically and at excessive speed. The driver initially failed to stop before the car was brought to a halt Cross Road, Malvern.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Unley was arrested and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.171. He was charged with driving in a manner dangerous, drink driving and failing to comply with a direction.

He was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and the car was impounded for 28 days.

He was granted police bail and will attend court at a later date.
