Driver blows almost four times the limit at Coober Pedy

Just before 8.30pm on Monday 21 September, Coober Pedy patrols attended Hutchison Road at Coober Pedy following reports a driver appeared intoxicated while behind the wheel of a Toyota utility.

Patrols were quick to the area, locating a 21-year-old driver from Victoria who was submitted to a breath test, returning a positive result of 0.191, almost four times the legal limit.

He was reported for drink-driving, issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and the vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in the Coober Pedy Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police will continue to target driving offences including drink-drivers and if you choose to drive when you are over the limit, you are choosing to endanger lives.
