28 Jun 2026 1:58pm

Police have reported a man for drink driving following a traffic stop at Mile End this morning.

At about 3.10 am on Sunday 28 June, police were on Rose Street when they observed a Mazda sedan driving erratically.

The car was stopped on Dew Street for a driver test. The driver, a 63-year-old man from Bowden, returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.210 – more than four times the limit.

A subsequent search located a pipe and a quantity of cannabis, which were seized.

The man was reported for drink driving and drug offences, issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice, and his car was impounded.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
