A drink and drug driver on a suspended provisional licence has been caught speeding.
About 7:20pm on Wednesday 20 August, police detected a Mercedes sedan travelling at 114km/h in a 90 km/h zone at Main North Road.
The driver underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.121. The driver was further subjected to a driver test where it will be alleged returned a positive result for cannabis.
Further checks by Police revealed the driver’s provisional licence was currently suspended for a previous speeding offence.
The 22-year-old Angle Vale man was reported for drink driving, drug driving, driving on suspended licence and exceeding the speed limit.
He was issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence notice and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
