17 Apr 2024 6:33am

Police are investigating a deliberately lit car fire at Mile End last night.

About 10.30pm Tuesday 16 April police and MFS were called to Roebuck Street after reports that a Mazda BT50 ute was on fire in the street. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang shortly before the fire started.

The fire was quickly contained by MFS but the ute was destroyed. Checks on the car revealed it had been stolen from a Findon home sometime between Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April.

Crime Scene Investigators attended the scene about 11pm to gather forensic evidence. Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious behaviour, or who has any information that may assist is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or phone 1800 333 000 – you can remain anonymous.
