Drink driver arrested at Aberfoyle Park

A woman has been arrested after drink driving and failing to stop for police.

Just before 11.40am on Sunday 9 August, police received reports of an intoxicated woman driving an Audi station wagon at Aberfoyle Park.

A patrol attended locating the Audi on Manning Road a short time later and attempted to stop the car however, the driver failed to stop, and a brief pursuit was commenced before being terminated.

As a result of an investigation the Audi was located at a property on Delta Crescent.

The driver, a 37-year-old woman from Flagstaff Hill attempted to drive away but was arrested without any further incident.

The driver was submitted to a driver test where it will be alleged she returned a positive result of 0.240 – nearly five times the legal limit.

She was charged with drink driving, dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, contravening mandatory alcohol interlock scheme conditions and issued a 12-month instant loss of licence notice.

The driver's car was impounded for 28 days, and it is expected she will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date.
