09 Apr 2024 7:00am

A teenager has been arrested following a pursuit last night in the northern suburbs.

Just before midnight on Monday 8 April police attempted to stop and speak to the occupants of a Mazda station wagon after they were seen acting suspiciously in Para Hills.

The driver refused to stop and was pursed onto Kesters Road and Bridge Road where it then travelled east on Montague Road.

Patrols successfully spiked the vehicle just before Kelly Road.

The vehicle continued driving on North East Road and then onto May Avenue, Modbury where the driver and two occupants ran from the vehicle.

All three occupants were located nearby.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Holden Hill, was arrested and has been charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit and disqualified driving.

He has been bailed to attend at the Elizabeth Youth Court on 10 May.

The two occupants were found not to have committed any offences and were not arrested.

The vehicle was not reported as stolen and has been impounded.
