Firearm located at Elizabeth South

About 12.45pm today (Wednesday 30 April) Northern District Criminal Investigation Branch attended an Elizabeth South home and conducted a search.

During the search officers located an unregistered and unsecured .22 lever action rifle with its serial number defaced.

A 56-year-old man from the address was arrested and has been charged with possess firearm without a licence, possess firearm without identifying mark, possess an unregistered firearm and breach of the code of practice.

He has been refused bail and will appear before the Elziabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday 1 May).
