Drugs and weapons seized from Loxton home

Loxton Police have arrested a man and woman for drug trafficking and other offences following a search at Loxton last week.

About midday on Wednesday 3 April, Murray Mallee police conducted a search of a residence at Loxton and located a quantity of drugs and weapons.

As a result of the search, officers located two cannabis plants and a quantity of dried cannabis, approximately 2 grams of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine and paraphernalia relating to drugs and drug dealing.

Officers also located a gel blaster and firearms parts, and prohibited weapons including Tasers, defensive spray, and knives. Suspected stolen property was also recovered.

A 51-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from Loxton, were subsequently arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled drug, cultivating cannabis, possessing dangerous articles, possessing a firearm and ammunition, and unlawful possession.

The man was remanded and appeared in the Berri Magistrates Court on Friday 5 April (CO2400012814), and the woman was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on 17 June.
