Limestone Coast weekend traffic round-up

Limestone Coast Police detected the following traffic offences over the weekend.

About 11am on Friday 19 June, police attended a crash involving a Toyota SUV and a stationary Hino truck on Church Street, Penola.  The driver of the Toyota, a 44-year-old woman from Joanna, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.228 – nearly five times the legal limit.  She was reported for drink driving and aggravated driving without due care.  She will appear in court at a later date and was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.

At 6.45pm on Saturday 20 June, a 66-year-old Mount Gambier woman recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.170 when stopped by police on the Riddoch Highway, Mount Schank. She was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and reported for drink driving.  She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

About 10.30pm on Saturday 20 June, a 30-year-old Bordertown man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.150 when he was stopped by police while driving on North Terrace, Bordertown. He was reported for drink driving, issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and will appear in court at a later date.

Just before 11.30am on Sunday 21 June, police stopped a vehicle on the Riddoch Highway at Struan.  Police checks revealed the 27-year-old Mount Gambier man’s licence was disqualified and he was reported.  He will appear in court at a later date.
