Man arrested after CBD assault

Police have arrested a man following an assault in Adelaide’s CBD this afternoon.

About 1pm on Monday 22 June, emergency services were called to Waymouth Street after reports a man had been pushed into the roadway.

A 67-year-old man received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by SA Ambulance Service.

An off-duty police officer who witnessed the matter restrained the suspect in nearby Topham Mall until patrols arrived resulting in the arrest of a 35-year-old man.

He has been charged with assault and refused police bail. He is expected to attend the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
