Speeder caught after Lochaber crash

15 Apr 2024 6:37am

A woman has escaped serious injury after she crashed on the Riddoch Highway.

It will be alleged that about 8.30pm on Friday 12 April, police were conducting speed detection duties at Lochaber when they detected a black Mitsubishi Outlander station wagon travelling south at 142km/h in a 110km/h zone.

Shortly after being detected speeding by police, the driver crashed into a drainage ditch.

A 25-year-old woman from New Zealand was taken to the Naracoorte Hospital by ambulance where she was treated for minor injuries and a sample of her blood was taken.

She was reported for exceeding the speed limit and driving without due care. She may face further charges once her blood sample has been forensically analysed.
