Drunk drivers stopped in Roxby Downs

Five drivers were caught driving over the legal limit during a three-day road safety operation in Roxby Downs.

Between Friday 21 August and Sunday 23 August, Roxby Downs police conducted a proactive operation focused on alcohol testing.

The following local drivers were reported for drink driving:

  • A 32-year-old man returned a positive result of 0.148.
  • A 32-year-old man returned a positive result of 0.087.
  • A 35-year-old man returned a positive result of 0.096.
  • A 63-year-old man returned a positive result of 0.139.

Each of the men was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. A Ford sedan and a Nissan Navara involved in the offending were impounded for 28 days.

A 34-year-old local man was also issued with a $1,012 expiation notice for drink driving on Saturday after he returned a positive result of 0.065.
