Murray Mallee traffic wrap 24 August

At 10.30am on Friday 21 August, police stopped a Holden sedan on Swanport Road, Murray Bridge for a mobile driver test.  The driver, a 49-year-old Murray Bridge woman, tested positive to cannabis.  The sample was sent for further analysis.

Just after 2pm on Friday 21 August, police pulled over a Mercedes Benz sedan on Weigall Avenue, Murray Bridge.  Police checks revealed the 19-year-old driver had never held a driver’s licence.  The Murray Bridge man was arrested and charged with driving unlicensed and bailed to appear in court on 7 October.  His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Just before 1pm on Saturday 22 August, police stopped a station wagon on Reedy Creek Road, Tepko for a mobile driver test.  The driver, a 57-year-old Waikerie man, tested positive for methamphetamine.  The sample was sent for analysis.

About 3pm on Saturday 22 August, police stopped a station wagon on the Sturt Highway, Paisley.  Police checks revealed the driver, a 35-year-old Morgan man, was currently disqualified.  He was reported for driving disqualified and will be summonsed to appear in court.  The vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Just after 2pm on Sunday 23 August, police detected a Mercedes Benz sedan speeding at 109 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on the Sturt Highway, Paisley.  A traffic stop on the vehicle revealed the driver, a 52-year-old Royal Park man, had a suspended licence.  He was reported for speeding and driving while suspended.  He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

About 9.40pm on Sunday 23 August, police stopped a ute on Hindmarsh Road, Murray Bridge for a mobile driver test.  The driver, a 62-year-old Murray Bridge man, tested positive for methamphetamine.  The sample was sent for analysis.

About 3.30am on Monday 24 August, police stopped a ute on Adelaide Road, Murray Bridge.  Police checks revealed the driver, a 35-year-old Murray Bridge man, was disqualified from driving.  He was reported and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
